Fit and Finish issues

No food has been smoked yet using this charcoal basket, but upon opening the box, a lot of random droplets of melted steel material was scattered and fused over the vortex plate and around the basket. At least one offline cut was present at the vortex plate edges. I doubt these defects would affect function, but I was disappointed with fit and finish as my expectations were quite high from online reviews.

Quality Built!!!

Due to work I still have not been able to use this basket, but I’m 1,000% positive that I will love it once I do. Great company to deal with and I for sure will be using them in the future.

The Vortex Basket is awesome!

When I took it out of the box, I have to admit while I loved how it was built but I thought dang this is so small, how will this do any long cooks. My first test cook went well though it was only 9 hours but there was still charcoal left over so that was good. Then on the second cook I went 12 hours and had plenty of charcoal left. This thing really packs a punch! Loving it! If you have a WSM, chuck the water pan and get the Vortex Basket!
