The vortex plate helps your WSM maintain a constant temperature without wild temperature swings. Made out of 11 gauge plate steel to last for a long time. Sits directly on the top of the stock WSM charcoal ring.

Beats the mess of the water pan!

I bought one for my 22" then this one for my 14" WSM. These are great! No more mess of the fat and drippings in the water pan or the pizza pan that I placed over the water pan. The color comes out darker, and the flavor is much better as well.

Hunsaker Vortex

Absolutely love the hunsaker vortex. Gave it a break in during an overnight pork butt smoke and it helped hold temperatures steady and gave my coals a prolonged burn. Would definitely recommend to others

Great device!

I’ve been using this on my kettle charcoal grill and it’s made such a difference in deflecting heat and protecting the bottoms of my proteins. The distance of my grill grate to my charcoal grate is higher than a normal weber kettle grill. But it’s not as much as a WSM. I put the plate on top of my weber charcoal baskets and it helps me utilize my whole 18in grill grate surface. The new added handle is also nice and a great update. Shipping was good and I had no problems with the ordering process as well.

Arrived well packed

Arrived packed in a strong cardboard box and was wrapped in bubble wrap. Saw a difference in temp control the first time I used it.
